Gathered is hosted by Kim Hallwood and Carmen Turner, two women who’ve built their careers leading sustainability at large, global organizations and are now advising companies on their sustainability agendas and coaching high-performing sustainability leaders.

At the first Gathered event in 2025, they found that when women were brought together in nature, with no agenda and no pressure to perform, the conversation quickly moved into depth. What surfaced was a desire for spaces that allow clarity, grounded decision-making, and human connection during a complex moment for the sustainability field.

Carmen Turner

Carmen spent nearly 20+ years in corporate sustainability seeing patterns where leaders are under pressure to deliver results — without the mandate, alignment, or executive backing to do it effectively. She works to support leaders reposition sustainability as a business-critical function and reclaim the authority required to lead it.

Carmen co-founded Gathered after experiencing first-hand the challenges that women in sustainability face and the lack of community support.

Kim Hallwood

For nearly two decades, Kim has been leading sustainability from the inside out— working directly with boards, executive teams, and cross-functional leaders to drive real, lasting impact.

Kim co-founded Gathered after founding her own consultancy, Hallwood Sustainability, a career pivot that was inspired and supported through connection with other women in sustainability navigating similar challenges.
